Cricut Design Studio – What you can do

The software package called Cricut design studio means you get more control over designing. You can take a cricut image and then change it, flip it, resize it, rotate it, stretch it etc. You can also take a combination of shapes and weld them together creating a totally unique shape, just let your imagination soar.

There are four main aspects to the cricut design software once it is loaded. A virtual mat where your designing is displayed, a virtual key-pad overlay, a Cricut cartridge resource library, and a shape properties window.

What is great about this is you can access all cricut cartridges in the library and it can be updated as more are released. So on the pc you are able to use all cartridge designs even ones you do not own. To search through it is simple as you are the one to organise the list of cartridges, alphabetically, category, favourites, whatever suits you. There is also a keyword search option and an auto filler that anticiaptes what it is you are looking for and suggests choices.

Once the search results are there the virtual overlay helps you find what you want faster. This can also be customised if you are finding what it shows is not what you asked for.

Cricut cartridges come with key-pad overlays and the one in this software is almost exactly like those. There are 6 feature buttons on the left, space, backspace and shift lock buttons. When on they are highlighted. If you move your mouse pointer over them they get bigger so you know which key your about to chose.

Once you select a shape you are going to work with you will get selection handles (which are the 8 circles that appear on the edges of the shapes) and the virtual mat. Most of the designing and changes are done using these handles. Cricut design studio gives you the perfect tool to create totally unique projects. The only limit to the designs is you and your imagination.
