Scrapbookers have many different tools they use, a whole variety of papers, scissors, shapes, stickers to name a few. Yet it is now possible to have all these things in one place with the Cricut Expression. This machine allows you to make unique and beautiful shapes and letters to add creativity and flare to any paper project.
The Expression helps you cut out intricate designs without you having to lift a pair of scissors and can make cutouts ranging in size from a quarter of an inch all the way up to 23.5 inches. This gives crafters more range in what they can design and make. Paper wise it will work with card stock, chipboard and vellum.
Though larger in size than the original the Expression is still portable if you need it to be. There is a carry case for it that has padding, wheels and a handle to make travel with the machine easy and safe from breakage. Though it looks like a printer you do not need a PC to use it. It takes cartridges like the original which have the information the machine needs to make the cutouts. When you want different shapes or fonts you get another cartridge. There are many available to purchase giving you thousands of shapes and lettering to choose from.
If you do have a computer there is software you can purchase that will hook the Expression to your PC. Design studio or Sure cuts slot, will give you a chance to design your own shapes, custom fonts and then just sends it to the machine to cut your design out.
The machine does not waste paper, it is designed to cut in such a way that waste is kept to a minimum. Additional to cutting on paper it can also cut vinyl up to twenty four inches long. Create words or phrases for your walls, or even etched glass. The creativity and possibilities are all up to you.
